Select-A-Tech

SMS Terms & Opt-In

Last updated:

These SMS Terms explain how Select-A-Tech ("we", "us") sends text messages, how you opt in, and how you can opt out at any time. They supplement our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Program description

Program name: Select-A-Tech Notifications

Select-A-Tech sends transactional text messages only to customers, businesses, and technicians who use the Select-A-Tech marketplace. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Messages relate directly to activity on your account, for example:

  • a new booking request for your business;
  • a booking being confirmed, declined, started, completed, or cancelled;
  • the outcome of a review challenge you submitted.

Example message: "Selectatech: your Plumbing booking with Acme Home Services is confirmed for Oct 20, 2026 9:00 AM. Ref 1a2b3c."

How you opt in

You opt in to receive text messages from Select-A-Tech when you:

  1. provide your mobile phone number when creating a Select-A-Tech account, or add it later in your account profile; and
  2. choose SMS as a notification method in your account or business notification preferences.

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated transactional text messages from Select-A-Tech at the mobile number you provided. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of using the Platform — you can use Select-A-Tech with email notifications only.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity, such as how many bookings you make or receive. You will typically receive a few messages per booking.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and plan. Contact your carrier for details.

How to opt out

You can cancel SMS notifications at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any message from us. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further text messages will be sent to that number.
  • Or turn off SMS in your account or business notification preferences.

Opting out of text messages does not close your account; you will continue to receive notifications by email. To opt back in, reply START or re-enable SMS in your notification preferences.

Help

For help, reply HELP to any message from us, or reach us through the Contact page.

Supported carriers

Supported carriers include major U.S. carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, among others. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

We use your mobile number only to send you the account notifications described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except with our SMS delivery provider as needed to send messages to you.

For more on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
