These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Select-A-Tech marketplace, including our website and any related apps (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
The Select-A-Tech marketplace
Select-A-Tech connects customers seeking home services with independent local businesses and technicians who offer those services. Select-A-Tech is a marketplace, not a service provider — businesses and technicians listed on the Platform are independent third parties, not our employees or agents, and are solely responsible for the services they perform.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. We support three account types — customer, business, and technician — each with role-based access to the corresponding portal.
Bookings and cancellations
When a customer books a service through the Platform, the booking is an agreement between the customer and the business or technician performing the service. Pricing, scheduling, and cancellation terms for a specific booking are set by the business offering that service and shown to you before you confirm. Select-A-Tech is not a party to that agreement, but may facilitate communication, scheduling, and payment through the Platform.
Payments and subscriptions
Payments and business membership subscriptions on the Platform are processed through Stripe. By making a payment or starting a subscription, you agree to Stripe's terms in addition to these Terms. Fees, refund eligibility, and subscription cancellation terms are described at the point of purchase.
Reviews and coupons
Customers may leave reviews of completed bookings. Reviews must reflect a genuine experience with the business or technician and must not contain false, defamatory, or abusive content. We may remove reviews or coupons that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation with any business;
- use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to harass, defraud, or harm another user;
- attempt to circumvent the Platform to avoid fees on a booking made through it;
- interfere with or disrupt the security or performance of the Platform;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse any part of the Platform outside normal use.
Notifications
By using the Platform, you consent to receive transactional emails and SMS messages related to your account and bookings (for example, confirmations, reminders, and status updates). Message and data rates may apply to SMS. You can manage non-essential notification preferences from your account settings.
Intellectual property
The Platform, including its design, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by Select-A-Tech or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform except as permitted by these Terms.
Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Select-A-Tech does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any service listed by a business or technician, and does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Select-A-Tech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any service booked through it, or for the acts or omissions of any business or technician.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the Platform. You may stop using the Platform and request deletion of your account at any time.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
